Prokopiou was bom in Volos in 1972, He has graduated in maritime studies and he work as a scientific researcher in University of Piraeus. In 1996 he attended "Photographic Circle" seminars and he is also a member since 1997. Prokopiou's photographic subject is taking pictures at night from different places ( Cities, Islands/mainly Rhodes/ and Villages) with or without people. Sometimes his pictures are not completely focused. Moreover have intensive characteristics of atmosphere. He presented three exhibitions. The first one in Syros island and the other two in his birthplace Macrinitsa, Volos.
